- Peshawar Literary Festival
The Peshawar Literary Festival (PLF) is one of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s most vibrant cultural platforms. It is a celebration of literature, debate, dialogue, art, skills, and youth voices. It strives for fusion of Intellectual traditions and cultural diversity through literature. Built on the spirit of revival and resilience, PLF brings thousands of people together to reconnect with creativity, reclaim public spaces, and reshape the cultural narrative of Peshawar. The festival blends storytelling, performing arts, dialogues, and skill-based masterclasses, creating a space where ideas flourish, identities are explored, and young people are inspired to lead with confidence and imagination.

- Literature is not merely an art form
Art is a mirror reflecting society’s evolution. In the case of Peshawar, a distance has been imposed between our stories and us. Our sense of expression has been held hostage by traditions, social upbringing, and numerous other factors. Our stories have often been appropriated by foreign voices, with our traumas ignored or, at worst, ridiculed in popular discourse. The complexity of our situation is further compounded by the political turmoil that has plagued our land. This alienation between individuals and their stories has adversely affected society, with young ones being the most significant casualties. Their communication skills, mental health, self-expression, critical thinking, and creative imagination have all suffered as a result. The Peshawar Literary Festival seeks to bridge this gap. By providing a platform that facilitates youth and the broader community in recognizing and polishing their creative capabilities, the festival aims to restore our connection to our stories and give voice to our narratives. It is an opportunity to create a breathing space that inspires new storytellers, rekindling the collective imagination of a society in dire need of expression and intellectual growth.
- Our Vision
To nurture a culturally confident, intellectually curious, creatively skilled generation that can tell its own stories, challenge narratives, and shape a more inclusive and imaginative future for Peshawar and beyond.

From Resistance to Reclamation
Launched in the shadow of the Police Lines tragedy, the inaugural PLF emerged as an act of cultural resistance. It was an affirmation that creativity endures even in moments of profound grief. It brought writers, poets, artists, and citizens together to heal, reflect, and reclaim public space through the power of collective expression.
In 2025, PLF expanded into a powerful arena of national dialogue. With over 35 speakers—policymakers, academics, authors, journalists, and artists—the festival confronted questions of power, identity, and representation, establishing PLF as a leading platform for critical discourse in Pakistan.
Season 3 marks a new chapter—a shift from rebuilding to re-imagining. This year celebrates the intersection of literature (Adab), skills and creativity (Kasab), and youth leadership (Jawan). PLF 2026 embraces emerging storytellers, digital creators, artisans, and thinkers, placing young people at the center of cultural revival in Peshawar.
